Part of Recticel Group
A challenger with a group behind it
REX Panels & Profiles manufactures insulated panels and steel profiles at its production facilitues in Tournai, Belgium. Since January 2024, REX has been part of Recticel Group’s Insulated Panels Division, alongside Trimo, a leading provider of premium insulated panel and architectural façade solutions. Through this partnership, REX benefits from Trimo’s innovation, technical expertise and international market reach, further strengthening the value and performance of the building solutions we deliver.
Future-smart insulation
Recticel Group’s purpose is future-smart insulation. Its expert brands are united by this purpose, reflecting the mission to develop smarter, more sustainable insulation solutions that create lasting value for customers, stakeholders and society.
The Group operates through three distinct divisions, supported by upstream and downstream capabilities. Across residential, commercial, industrial and specialised applications, Recticel Group combines technical expertise, lightweight and high-performing insulation materials, modular designs and architectural building skins to deliver solutions focused on energy efficiency, sustainability and performance. That way, the Group addresses the specific needs of its customers with value-driven solutions.
The Group’s strategy prioritises sustainable growth in the insulation market while reducing environmental impact, with a focus on low-carbon resources and improved energy efficiency and sustainability embedded across its operations and relationships. Its value creation model is aligned with the European Green Deal and the drive to improve building energy efficiency and accelerate renovation.
Insulated Panels Division
The Insulated Panels division provides premium-quality solutions for modern construction, combining thermal performance, durability and versatility across commercial, industrial and residential applications. The portfolio includes premium mineral wool panels and advanced products from Trimo, mineral wool and PIR panels produced to project length by REX Panels & Profiles, and modular units comprising structural elements from Trimo MSS.
In 2025 the division expanded further with the acquisition of Miclar, a specialist in industrial façade and roof cladding, light structural steel and finishing components, and Kuras, a specialised building products wholesaler serving the Benelux region.
ELEVATE 2030
ELEVATE 2030 is the Group’s strategy: a blueprint for value-driven growth through greater focus and efficiency, built on six pillars: operations, administrative processes, advanced products, downstream offerings, geographical expansion and carbon footprint.
For the Insulated Panels division, that means building a world-leading position as a premium supplier of mineral wool insulated panels, while pursuing market leadership in PIR insulated panels in selected regions. With three of its four lines running PIR, REX is central to that second ambition.
The division is positioned to benefit from recovery and growth in Western Europe, particularly in the UK, Germany and Benelux. These are the markets REX supplies from Tournai. Stated priorities include developing value-adding innovations at REX, increasing production-line efficiency and strengthening the focus on key applications.
The sixth pillar, carbon footprint, is covered in more detail on our sustainability page.

What is driving the market
The insulated panels market is primarily divided between polyurethane (PIR/PU) and mineral wool-cored products. The division’s portfolio addresses the main trends driving growth.
-
Energy efficiency
Thermal performance and airtightness decide how a building performs for decades. Insulated panels minimise heat loss and reduce operational cost over the whole service life.
-
Prefabrication
Building faster, with fewer trades on site. Every REX panel is produced to project length as a single factory-manufactured unit, so cutting happens in the factory and joints land where the design wants them.
-
Fire safety
Fire requirements increasingly decide which core a project can use. REX runs both PIR and mineral wool lines in Tournai, so the core is chosen on what the project requires rather than on what the supplier happens to produce. With certified fire-rated solutions where the project demands them.
-
Sustainability
Whole-life carbon and energy performance are part of the specification now, not an afterthought. Panels cut energy demand for as long as the building stands, and mineral wool cores are recyclable up to 98%.
Why build with insulated panels
Insulated panels combine structural and physical properties that provide design freedom with advanced technical performance. They offer a high-quality total-envelope solution and are particularly well suited to prefabrication, supporting regulatory compliance through fast, cost-efficient and scalable construction.
- Self-supporting solutions, with spans of up to 10 metres
- Single factory-manufactured units
- Mineral wool and PIR insulation options
- Water and air tightness
- High thermal performance
- Moisture resistance
- Up to 98% recyclability for mineral wool panels
